My Story
I am a freelance English-language editor (US) working with nonnative-English speakers (ESL/EFL), as well as native speakers.
Since childhood, I have had a love for the English language—for words. How they sound, what they mean, and especially how to use them. Literally. Figuratively. Creatively. Growing up, I was a voracious reader and a frequent visitor to my local library. And being the word nerd that I was, I would spend hours poring over my thesaurus or dictionary. I was fascinated by the intricacies of connotation and nuance.
As an adult, I have gravitated to a career in words: as an English teacher, as a marketing copywriter, and now as an editor. These positions were a natural progression in my skillset and talents, with a varied background that brings specialized experience to editing in these fields.
I received my certificate in copyediting from the University of California, San Diego. UCSD's intensive copyediting program, one of the most well-respected in publishing and editorial circles, has prepared me for editing in diverse industries and disciplines.
I have proven experience in the following areas:
-
business copy, proposals, reports, articles, presentation slides, transcripts, press releases, copyright permission requests
-
website content, landing pages, product descriptions, online copy, articles, blogs, ebooks
-
marketing copy, fliers, brochures, pamphlets, email campaigns, social media outreach, white papers
-
academic papers, teaching materials, worksheets, educational card games, newsletters, magazines
-
self-published fiction, both long-form and short story collections
-
free-form poetry and narrative nonfiction
-
text post-translation
-
formatting book-length manuscripts for print publications
-
proofreading post-layout, both print and digital formats
I can help you communicate your message, polish your text, and ensure that your written materials are not only grammatically correct, but also clear, concise, and consistent.

More About Me
When I am not editing, I may be found curled up with one of my cats and reading a novel, big mug of coffee or a glass of red wine in hand. I collect books and love to read literary fiction and Victorian-era classics. Some of my favorite authors are Margaret Atwood, Haruki Murakami, Nick Hornby, John Steinbeck, Thomas Hardy, and Charles Dickens. I love to work out at my gym, run, and do yoga. I am from Dallas, Texas, and I currently reside in Israel with my husband and two daughters.
